Friday night at the Heard Museum was all fashion. And in this installment of the Heard's "Third Fridays," Phoenix fashion's Robert Black pulled out some of his vintage collection from his Scottsdale boutique and paired it with the Heard's extensive collection of Southwest accessories.
Before the 10-minute show began (more on that later), guests mingled around the bar and local business booths, which included Halo and Stinkweeds.

Once the show started around 8 p.m., Ford models strolled down the runway in a variety of looks with southwestern flair of fringe, leather and turquoise to the tune of Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" kicked off the show.
The playlist continued with a confusing mash of songs that sounded more like modern, bass-pumping club hits and less like the vintage or the Southwest themes on the runway, but it was nonetheless energizing.
"Oooh"s and "wow"s came at any sign of sequins, which adorned several looks including a couple of knee-length circle skirts. More than one woman exclaimed, "I have to have that!" when the hunky male model strutted down the runway with his shirt open -- we're assuming she wasn't referring to the massive necklace adorning his bare chest.
Aside from the obvious sparkles and hot models, the designs and accessories were overall crowd pleasers. A denim, studded bustier dress got comments of approval with ladies gushing, "I NEED that!" (Though that's easy to say after a few Chardonnays.)
What stole the show: A black Bob Mackie design worn by a model who strutted to Peter, Bjorn and John's "Young Folks."
The audience cheered for the red-sequin bra top paired with the cropped black jacket and pencil skirt. They got even louder when the model turned to reveal the glittering rhinestone cowboy on the back.
After the models closed the show with a final walk, the lights came up and a group of ladies at a cocktail table looked around, puzzled, "Is that it?" "Noo! It's over?!"
Yes, only ten minutes had gone by. But their despair soon vanished as a rack of clothes was rolled out from behind the scenes. It didn't take long for groups of women (and men!) to scurry over to paw the merchandise (ranging from $85 to $900).
