Something about summertime kind of kills our curiosity. No longer are we amped to hunt for cool art, try hot new restaurants, or, honestly, even bother to put on real clothing. Hence the appeal of "The Summer Gem Show" at Lisa Sette Gallery (which, yes, we plan to get dressed for).
With works from some of our favorite artists, including Mayme Kratz, Carrie Marill, and Anthony Velasquez, the exhibition presents pieces that are, as the title promises, gems.
The dud-free exhibition is open through Saturday, September 14, at 4142 North Marshall Way. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28. Admission is free. An opening reception will be held Thursday, July 11, in conjunction with the Summer Spectacular Artwalk. For details, visit www.lisasettegallery.com or call 480-990-7342.
Thursdays, 7-9 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: June 6. Continues through Sept. 14, 2013
