Just like the people who partake in them, not all triathlons are built alike. There is, of course, the Ironman -- the 140-mile showcase of endurance and masochism that takes over Tempe every fall. But triathlons of different lengths are also available for the less self-punishing.
Held at Tempe Beach Park, the second annual Marquee Triathlon offers a triathlon trio, complete with Sprint (750-meter swim, 12.4-mile bike, 3.1-mile run), Olympic (1500-meter swim, 25-mile bike, 6.2-mile run) and Half Iron (1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, 13.1-mile run) distance events. Choose a race based on your skill level -- or however much you feel like hurting the next day.
