One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?
With his latest portrait work, California-based artist Andrew Myers is taking a "screw you" approach.
Each of his 3-dimensional portraits requires 8,000 to 10,000 screws, which Myers drills into a design sketched onto a plywood panel before he paints. He writes that he considers his work to be a mix between traditional sculpture (as the screws vary in height) and painting.
