There’s an interesting quarterback contest happening on the practice fields of the Arizona State Sun Devils. We’re not going to call it a controversy – it is, indeed, only spring practice – but two prime signal callers, true sophomore Brock Osweiler and Georgia Tech/Michigan transfer Steven Threet, are participating in a duel that could echo the Sam Keller-Rudy Carpenter competition in 2006. Thus far, Osweiler’s accuracy seems a bit better than Threet’s, but the latter’s running ability in new offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone’s scheme could give Threet a leg up on the hotly-contested competition.

One thing that’s not a question mark heading into the 2010 season is the Devils’ defense. In short, it rules, and will most likely dominate during the ASU Spring Football Game.
