Those planning to attend but one fashion event this spring (and the Paris show is already over), might want to consider the high heels, glitter, champagne and outrageous, often in-your-face style of Mad Girl Productions' Sugar Art and Fashion Show, "Sugar Does America 2," hitting Phoenix Friday, March 29.
The female-focused event is like Lollapalooza and fashion week all rolled into one.

The event features live music (bands and DJs), a local designers fashion show, artist and photographer showcases, crazy antics, and much more.
Valley designers include Isabella Rae Jewelry, Misconstrued (who will be introducing her Better Than Barbie collection at the Sugar show), Hell on Heels (never a more fitting name!), Angela Marie, Randallwear, and several others. Models, including area residents Faithe Williams, Jasmine Hartsock, Zuri D., and Marissa Canderlaria, hit the runaway at 10:30 p.m., showcasing the wild array of contemporary fashions from these fine designers.
The long list of artists and photographers includes some of Phoenix's finest in Bethanie Marshall, Noxious Hues, Kara Hamer, Lost Kat Studios, and Designs By DonnElle, to name but a few. Many of the artists and designers will have examples of their work for sale too.
A "pop-up" boutique features dozens of vendors with clothing, footwear, jewelry, and other fashion accessories ranging from subtle to modern to over-the-top. The "wild, edgy and innovative" event promises to be "full of fun and outlandish surprises." Dress your best as event photographers will be snapping away, while "Sugar Does America" will be filming for its event documentary.
Sugar kicks off at The Duce, 525 South Central Avenue with a 12:30 p.m. artist and photography showcase that runs through the afternoon. Happy hour runs 4 to 6 p.m., with DJs keeping the party atmosphere flowing until the evening's anticipated finale, the fashion show.
Presale tickets are $15, VIP $75, available online. Tickets are $20 at the door.
