Take notes, Phoenix. This Sunday, TEDxPhoenixChange will take over Tempe History Museum with a goal to explore ideas worth sharing and disrupt communities for good.

If you've been to a TED or TEDx event, you're familiar with the format -- speakers from a variety of backgrounds and professions share ideas, projects, hypotheses, and challenges for a live audience.

This Sunday's event will include a simulcast of TEDxChange: Positive Disruption as well as three live local speakers. Event organizers say TEDxChange is an event created out of a partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the TEDx program.

Speakers include Bob Beard (who contributes to New Times), Amy Scerra, and Robert Diehl.

If you've read anything by Beard on Jackalope Ranch, you know he's a self-described fan of fandom. He keeps tabs on fan culture and the geek community and founded Arizona PBS Nerd Walk.

Scerra champions female entrepreneurs and works with the Thunderbird School of Global Management to create opportunities for women to connect, share ideas, and promote sustainable business growth.

Diehl is a fixture in the local arts community and is curator of TEDxScottsdale. He's a community activist and focuses on positive chance throughout Phoenix.

The three will discuss Phoenix and changes they'd like to see in Phoenix from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7. Tickets are $5. Check out more info on the TEDxPhoenixChange website.
