If you've ever found yourself gazing into the bottom of your cereal bowl wondering just how it came to be, you're in luck. The 13th Annual Self-Guided Ceramics Studio Tour will offer a behind-the-scenes look at 14 ceramics studios scattered across the Phoenix metro area on Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23.

The two-day event, put on by ASU Art Museum's Ceramics Research Center, features a variety of exhibitions and live demonstrations free of charge.

This year's tour will feature the work of 48 professional ceramic artists and seven ASU ceramics graduate students. The artwork itself comes in all shapes and sizes, both functional and sculptural.

Throughout the weekend, studios will be holding live demonstrations of wheel throwing, hand-building, and glazing techniques. For a full list of demo times and locations, consult the official tour poster.

Night Gallery at Tempe Marketplace and Art One Gallery in Scottsdale are hosting ceramics exhibitions for the month of February to accompany the event.

The Ceramics Research Center itself is in the process of relocating to the Brickyard on Mill Avenue. The first exhibition in the new space will go up next month.

The 13th Annual Self-Guided Ceramics Studio Tour will take place on February 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free of charge. For a map of participating studio locations and demonstration times, visit asuartmuseum.asu.edu.
