"Coast Modern" is an independent documentary that spans three generations of modernist architecture along the Pacific Northwest coastline from LA to Vancouver.

The film gives history and showcases pioneers of this particular style while taking you directly inside some of these architectural marvels. It also includes interviews with some of the most respected and noteworthy names in architecture such as Ray Kappe, James Steele and Barbara Lamprecht, among others.

AIGA Arizona has partnered with FilmBar to put on the event as part of their Film Night at FilmBar series, which takes place on the last Monday of every month.

The goal the Film Night at FilmBar series including the screening of "Coast Modern" is to promote and embrace all forms of design, including architecture and interior design according to AIGA Arizona President, Marvin Forte.

"Our goal is to give designers and design enthusiasts a venue to mix, mingle and be inspired," he says.

"Coast Modern" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $5 at the door. FilmBar is located at 815 N 2nd St.
