Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.

Banned Books on Film: A Clockwork Orange @ Phoenix Art Museum Delve into Stanley Kubrick's furturistic dystopian masterpiece, A Clockwork Orange, when Bookmans presents the shockingly brutal work (it's original release garnered an X-rating in the states) as part of its new series dubbed Banned Books on Film.

The controversial flick, based on Anthony Burgess' 1962 novella of the same name, is a fitting choice for the Banned series precisely because of the mixed reception it received upon release. While Kubrick's interpretation garnered multiple BAFTA and Academy Award nominations (among other accolades), it also inspired heinous copycat crimes and was banned in Britain for some 27 years. And as the series' name hints, the novella found itself blacklisted stateside.

Is it art or a glorification of despicable acts? Make up your own mind on the matter when the movie screens at 7 p.m. Friday at Phoenix Art Museum. Tickets are $7.

55th Annual Hashknife Pony Express Ride @ Marshall Way Bridge Each January, a team of more than 24 old-school mailmen travel from Holbrook to Scottsdale on horseback to deliver letters. This year marks the 55th ride, and after the requisite 200 miles the travelers will arrive at the Marshall Way Bridge Roundabout Greet the team on Saturday at noon, as Marshall Shore provides historical context for the event (and commemorative stickers, too).

6th Annual Canary Open @ Smashboxx Don your yellows and get ready for some Waste Management Phoenix Open pre-gaming, it's time for the Canary Open. The Waste Management Phoenix Open pre-party gets going at Smashboxx on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with $25 bottomless Bloody Mary's and mimosas -- plus breakfast.

Droves of party buses depart from the club at 11 a.m. and head to the main event at TPC Scottsdale. Currently seats on the buses are full, but organizers are looking to charter another ride. To get on their waiting list, email [email protected].

Silly String Fest @ Rawhide If your inner prankster gets giddy with excitement at the prospect of thousands of cans of Silly String, go ahead and block out your Saturday night. That's when Uprising is hosting an ASU edition of Silly String Fest, which is exactly what it sounds like -- plus some DJ entertainment. Things get silly starting at 8 p.m. at Rawhide. Super Bowl XLVII Party @ World of Beer While we will be rooting for Ms. Knowles to win the Super Bowl with her sure-to-be killer halftime show (fingers crossed for a baby bump #Kimye cameo), those wishing to throw allegiance toward San Fran or Baltimore can cheer on their team of choice at Mill Avenue brew palace World of Beer. Get there Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to watch the game and imbibe. Reserve your table by calling 480-638-2337.
