It's almost 2012, and if you're on board with all the Mayan-end-of-the-world business that slates next December as the end of days then this weekend will serve as your last chance to celebrate a new year.

Instead of losing yourself in the abyss of an existential crisis, here are five fun ways to spend what could be your final New Year's Eve.

Kevin Nealon @ Tempe Improv
Comedian and SNL alum Kevin Nealon kicks off the weekend with two sets in Tempe on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30. Nealon will also perform two sets on Saturday night at 7 p.m. and 10. Tickets are $20.

Maybe 2012 Will Be Better @ The Compound
Those attending this NYE shindig won't want for art, music, and grub -- all of which will overflow at the Compound, located on the Southeast corner of Farmer Ave. and University Dr., on Saturday. Starting at 8 p.m., the evening includes live music from North Dakota, DJentrification, and Sugar Thieves; art from a long list of locals including Lalo Cota, Jenny Ignaszewski, and Beth Tom; as well as food from Jobot and Farmer Woody. Admission is $10. Details here.

Obscura's Final Countdown @ Rips
Don complimentary party favors from Rips and sip bubbly during the midnight champagne toast during this year-end dance party. DJ Roya and Adrian Flanagan will spin '80s dance tunes, brit pop, and indie tunes. Doors open at 8:30. Admission is $5 before 10 p.m. and $10 after. See more here.

Scottsdale's Ultimate Block Party @ Craftsman Court
For some, an NYE bash isn't complete without a slew of folks getting sloshed and screaming the countdown to midnight. This three-stop bar crawl and street party kicks off at 6 p.m. with Dos Gringos, Rock Bar, and Upper Deck mixing the drinks. Tickets are $35. See more here.

Raw Spirit Festival @ JW Marriott Desert Ridge

If your resolution for 2012 involves being healthier, meditating, going vegan, or just detoxing those mass amounts of cookies and cocktails you ingested over the past month, then Raw Spirit's up your alley. Festivities on New Year's Day include an organic farm tour and a raw food potluck. Ticket prices vary. See details here.
