Etsy.com 5th Birthday Craft Party @ Butter Toast Boutique
Oh, Etsy.com, what would we do without you? Tonight, the five-year-old website is calling upon all crafters to party. Merry May Handmade hosts the Etsy.com 5th Birthday Craft Party on Friday, June 18 where crafting lovers can congregate, swap craft supplies, finish projects, and mingle. Purling, sewing, and the gluing of stuff on other stuff lasts from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at Butter Toast Boutique. Click here for more details.

Indoor Beach Party @ Devil's Martini North
Two for one drinks. Complimentary appetizers. Beachwear fashion show. And did we mention two for one drinks? The party kicks off at 7 p.m. and rages until last call. Check out the summer's beach trends as models take to the runway at 9 p.m. with fashions by Ruby Boutique. So drink it up and feel good for two reasons: because booze makes it better and the event benefits the Arizona Humane Society. Click here for more details.

"Where the wild Things Are: Maurice Sendak in His Own Words and Pictures" @ Scottsdale Civic Center Library
The Where the Wild Things Are craze is just about to hit the place where you have more cultural credibility if you hate it rather than love it. Almost. So, we say, get in while the gettin's still kinda good at this art and interactive exhibition that honors Sendak's iconic work. The show is open all weekend and lasts through August 31. Click here for more details.

Michael McDonald @ Tempe Improv
You can't help but to love the luscious-lashed, doe-faced comedian who brought us the magically hilarious Stuart character via Mad TV (sorry, McDonald, you're just never going to live that down). He does plenty of other funny stuff, too, and he'll be in town all weekend showing off his latest stand-up material. Click here for more details.

Father's Day Hike @ Deer Valley Rock Art Center

Well, if you weren't able to get your dear old dad anything off this list, we say the next best thing is getting the old man out in the dirt for a little hike. Even for the less-active dad-type, the quarter-mile jaunt shouldn't put him out. And, there's the Valley's largest collection of Native American petroglyphs at the end of the trail. Sweat, dirt, and a little history lesson -- Dad will dig it. Click here for more details.
