While it's not our cup of tea, we acknowledge the fact that many beauty-conscious individuals pay good money for services like vajazzling, colonics, and anal bleaching.

But when we heard about the newest beauty craze (emphasis on craze) to hit the holistic spas -- well, our eyes weren't the only thing that crossed.

The treatment which is best described as an herbal facial for your vagina is a service that apparently many curious women (enough to generate a generous Google search result) are seeking out.

While turning your birth canal into a swamp seems like the exact opposite thing you would want to do, this ancient spa procedure claims to treat a variety of aliments including: painful periods, stress, yeast infections, cysts, scars, uterine fibroids, and other means by which your lady parts choose to destroy you.

The process, which runs an average of 30 minutes and costs $50 dollars at spas like the Tikkun Spa in Santa Monica, consists of popping a squat over what is more or less a steam toilet filled with herbs such as basil, calendula, mugwort, oregano, rosemary, and wormwood.

If done properly and safely (DIY vagina steamers are advised to be cautious of burning their nether regions) vagina steams can supposedly provide a much hyped detox from down under.
