One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

New York-based artist Shinichi Maruyama uses water, ink, gravity and a camera to capture his very temporary sculptures that resemble Japanese calligraphy.



Maruyama talked to NPR about his process this week, and shared a video of his "Kusho" (Japanese for writing in the sky), which you can check out below.
