Earlier this week, the company announced it's bringing its two main television programs, Raw and SmackDown Live, to the Valley in early July.
According to the WWE, the shows will be broadcast from Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix on back-to-back nights with Raw taking place on Monday, July 3, and SmackDown Live following on Tuesday, July 4.
In other words, skyrockets in flight won’t be the only colorful fireworks going off in downtown Phoenix during the Fourth of July holiday (thanks to the WWE’s penchant for having pyrotechnic displays at its events).
Fans can expect to see most of the WWE’s major superstars from each program, which serves as separate brands for the company, in action at their respective events.
Per the WWE website, that will include appearances by Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe, Alexa Bliss, and the Hardy Boys at Raw.
In addition, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Charlotte Flair, Jinder Mahal, and Valley resident Dolph Ziggler will be at SmackDown Live.
It’s not the first time that the WWE has had major shows in the Valley on back-to-back nights, as both Raw and SmackDown took place here in 2000 at what was then America West Arena. And back in 2010, Raw was at the same venue the night after WrestleMania 26 went down at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
Tickets for both events go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 12. Pre-sale tickets, however, will be available on Wednesday, May 10.
