Jacob Fischer is very familiar with the road less traveled. The local artist is an MFA candidate at ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and a resident artist at Art Rocks Studio in Gilbert. And through Tuesday, August 7, his latest work is on view at Burton Barr Central Library's @Central Gallery, which showcases work by local artists each month.
For the series, titled "(un)Familiar Routine," Fischer works in charcoal and explores what he describes as renderings of “the moment of engagement with a physical space and one's consciousness of it."
Tuesdays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sundays, 1-5 p.m. Starts: June 5. Continues through Aug. 7, 2012
