We have a sneaking suspicion that Charlene Yi is trying to take over the world . . . slowly and adorably. In addition to acting turns in fare like Knocked Up and Paper Heart, shes an all-star in the Los Angeles comedy scene. Yi is musically minded, juggling solo work with a seemingly endless array of collaborations. Her latest project Flesh the Racist Crayon, rolls into downtown Phoenix.
Yis past dabblings in music have included a Hanson-centric comedy show, but Flesh the Racist Crayon is totally serious business, you guys, with frequent partner-in-crime, Roxy Radulescu and Daniel Hart of St. Vincent. Their twangy indie folk is sweetly silly with a good dose of sincerity.
