Pack your creative projects, fashionable sensibilities, and art-hungry eyes and head downtown for the Grand Avenue Festival. The daylong celebration of the neighborhoods small businesses and artists will feature tours of shops, vintage commercial buildings, and adaptive-reuse projects, as well as a handful of curated indoor and outdoor art exhibitions and a recycled fashion show.
What were really excited about? Local artist Jenny Ignaszewskis pamphlet Mural Street Love a self-guided tour to the neighborhoods murals by artists Luster Kaboom, David Chacon, Francisco Enuf Garcia, and more.
The festival is from 3 to 11 p.m. along Grand Avenue. Tours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Pedicabs will cruise the street to take visitors to festival activities, though organizers say visitors can easily walk or bike to each destination. Most activities are free.
