To some, a "nighttime art run" consists of a mobile graffiti spree with the intent of tagging the maximum number of block walls before dawn. But don't expect many aerosol paint-toting runners at the Night Run for the Arts, since the event is not about turf boundaries, but rather funding for the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts. There's an 8K run for those more into sculpting their bodies, and a docent-led, 45-minute stroll for those more into the sculptures located in the plaza. Three- and one-mile walks/runs are also offered. Registration is $25 on the day of the race. Wells leads Devils one last time

Before coming to Arizona, ASU softball coach Linda Wells led University of Minnesota teams to national championships in women's basketball, softball, and volleyball. Her Sun Devil sluggers broke the school's home-run record twice in three years, played in the College World Series twice, and made it to the NCAA regionals seven years running. Wells ends her 16-year ASU career this spring, and her last regular-season home stand begins on Friday, May 6, when the Sun Devils go up against Washington at 7 p.m. They face UCLA at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and 1 p.m. Sunday, May 8.
