We've sort of asked Class 6 Theatre why it's called that, but we remain in the dark. Most likely, it's not named after a Norwegian train (this bird has perused timetables and chosen a convenient departure time). We hope it has to do with the not-yet-approved-for-use Category 6 on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale: more powerful than anything before, ever -- which describes some of the young troupe's productions quite well.

Like a hurricane, besides having calm in its eye, Class 6 can be unpredictable. One minute, it presents a play that would be 10 minutes long if not for the f-bombs. (An audience member was offended by the pre-show music.) The next, we get something genuinely suitable for children, as well as for all who know how hip stage puppetry's become: Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors with puppets. Also featuring human actors, the double-mistaken-identity farce continues through Sunday, February 24, at Mesa Arts Center.

Wednesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 13. Continues through Feb. 24, 2013
