Anyone who’s attempted to clean out a closet has fallen prey to it: clothing calling up memories that save it from the dumpster or donation box.

Sisters Nora and Delia Ephron know the connection that can be felt between an owner and her shoes, handbags, and blouses. Their experience is reflected in the humorous and affecting ensemble play Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which the Ephrons adapted from Ilene Beckerman’s best-selling novel of the same name, adding in anecdotes from their personal friends.

Starring Loretta Swit, known for her turn as Hot Lips on M*A*S*H, Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street’s longstanding Maria), and Broadway vets including Daisy Eagan, Emily Dorsch, and Myra Lucretia Taylor, the stylish show opens on Tuesday, January 3.
