Bentley Gallery

Bentley Calverley founded Bentley Gallery in Scottsdale back in 1984. And not just anywhere in Scottsdale but in the heart of the high-end arts district of Marshall Way. In 2004 she opened a second venture, this time in the burgeoning arts scene of downtown Phoenix and in mid-2012 announced she would be closing the original Scottsdale locale to focus all her energy on Bentley Projects. The giant warehouse space can hold art of any imaginable size and draws an impressive line-up of contemporary paintings and sculptures from around the world. The 22,000 square-foot space used to house a linen laundry in the early 20th century and still boasts original brickwork and exposed wood bow-truss beams. When the gallery and its owner moved downtown, we knew the art scene was on its way up with the new addition -- and Calverley and her artists have certainly delivered.
