Tacos Atoyac has become one of Phoenix's most popular taquerias, and with good reason — fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and, yes, rock-bottom prices (nothing on the menu costs more than $8). A fresh departure from the city's ubiquitous Sonaran-style taco joints, Atoyac has mined Oaxacan-style recipes, focusing more on rich flavors than on heat. Served on Fridays and Saturdays only, the complex mole is a must-order, as are Atoyac's lightly battered fish tacos, some of the best we've ever tasted, and the tlayuda, a Mexican pizza topped with delicious al pastor pork, onions, and avocado.
