A Wilhelm Scream may win the award for best song titles this year. Here are the top three: "The Kids Can Eat a Bag of Dicks," a quick post-hardcore tune with a nice bass solo and an emo breakdown (no, that's not a joke); "Me vs. Morrissey in the Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)," Ruiner's strongest track (complete with squealing guitars, rhythmic breakdowns and emo lyrics, it's the quintessential A Wilhelm Scream song); and "Less Bright Eyes, More Deicide," which is really a short intro track, but with a name that sweet, it's automatically a killer one. Meanwhile, the opening song, "The King Is Dead," may not have an amusing moniker, but it grabs your attention with high-speed staccato guitars and a blast of power chords. When vocalist Nuno Pereira starts belting out the lyrics, there's no doubt that A Wilhelm Scream is ready to assume the throne now held by Hot Water Music and Thrice.
