Arty Girl: Rowdy Boutique's Night of Fashion

In my college days, my "style" was pretty pathetic. I was super poor and I biked to school so all my outfits went like this: ill-fitting jeans, Adidas (hey, it was the early 2000's) and a black or gray wife-beater from the Men's Hanes 3-pack I picked up at Target.Like...

I was super poor and I biked to school so all my outfits went like this: ill-fitting jeans, Adidas (hey, it was the early 2000's) and a black or gray wife-beater from the Men's Hanes 3-pack I picked up at Target.

Like I said, pathetic.

Times have changed. Thank God. And now I have the privilege of mixing and matching my generic clothing from large retail chains with key, unique pieces from local boutiques and clothing exchanges. Life is good.

I've heard great things about Rowdy Boutique in central Phoenix and since they're throwing a charity event Thursday night, I figure it's the perfect kind of thing to pimp on Arty Girl.

The event is their 2nd Annual "Night of Fashion" and they've teamed up with the local non-profit, AZ Visionaries, an organization that works to provide the needy with cataract surgery and eyeglass fittings.

So here's what's going to happen: you pay at least $20 to get in the door (this is your donation to AZ Visionaries so cough it up), you see Rowdy Boutique's Fall fashion preview, you get some sweet discounts on clothes, you eat appetizers, drink wine and get in on a raffle to win Cardinals tickets, spa packages and dinners at local restaurants.

I also heard that The Root Salon is providing complimentary goody bags for the event. And, trust me, they'll be full of chi-chi stuff (full disclosure: I get my hair done at this salon so I know they have great product).

The Rowdy Boutique and AZ Visionaries 2nd Annual "Night of Fashion" runs from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 17th (tomorrow night) at Rowdy Boutique, 4714 N. 7th St. in Phoenix, www.therowdyboutique.com, entry is $20 donation and bring any old pairs of glasses you're willing to donate.
