This past Saturday Michael J.Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease, held his annual charity benefit, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's. While at the New York fundraiser, Fox busted out a guitar and reenacted the popular scene from 1985's Back To The Future where Marty McFly rocked out Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode."
Now that's heavy.
It's hard to believe it's been 26 years since Fox first donned a gray sport coat, skinny red tie and guitar, and introduced rock and roll to unsuspecting kids at the Enchantment Under The Sea school dance. He fakes it in the movie of course, but it's the real deal on stage.
The debilitating disease is a neurological disorder that affects the central nervous system, often times manifesting itself as physical tremors. And although it's been 20 years since Fox was first diagnosed with the disease, he hasn't let it stop him from jamming out. Check out a clip from Saturday's performance.
Fast forward to the 3:10 marker to relive the greatest exploding amp scene ever.
Way to be, Mr. Fox.
