Best of Phoenix winners, Banda La Llegadora, charge a pretty penny for their services: Something to the tune of $600 per hour the last time we checked. The whopping fee fetches you a Mexican musical menagerie that really know how to carry a puro pinche parii.
Lucky for you, the troupe frequents local Mexican restaurant/music hall La Casa Del Mariachi on a regular basis so you won't have to shell out so much cheddar to see what all the fuss is about. La Llegadora is scheduled to perform Tuesday, June 5, along with Banda La Maciza, and Grupo Poderozzo.
The cost to book the band may seem a bit steep but it does take 14 men to weave their playful polka beats. Not unlike other banda acts, their arsenal consists of a tuba player, a trombonist, a trio of trumpeters, clarinetists, percussionists and of course a booming vocalist.
Naturally, the animated act pair their high energy personas with matching outfits: usually blinged-out sportcoats and big collared shirts.
The last time we wrote about an event at La Casa Del Mariachi, the headliner was booted from the lineup and our blog somehow made its way onto the Spanish-language news program, Primer Impacto, though we're sure Banda La Llegadora should offer a great show and no controversy.
