While Phoenix vodka lovers are celebrating Chelsea Handler's upcoming appearance Thursday, March 11 at Dodge Theatre, a few of her writers from her late-night comedy talk show, Chelsea Lately, are also coming to the Valley.
Next Saturday, March 20, stand-up comics, writers and round table participants from the show Chris Franjola and Sarah Colonna make their way to Tempe's Yucca Tap Room, for a night full of stand-up... and a whole lot of beer, as sponsor PBR offers $2 12 ounce cans and $3 tall boy's and giveaways. The comics will be joined by Phoenix comic Bryan Ricci, a native New Yorker who's performed at the Tempe Improv. (Full disclosure: Local PBR rep Kelly Wilson freelances for New Times.)
"The Yucca Tap Room is one of best venues for stand-up comedy here in Valley," Ricci says. "I will be the local portion of the show, so you'll be sure to hear me discuss things like why Scottsdale has a pudding store... and more."
In case you've never seen any of the comics, below are a few clips for your viewing pleasure. The show, which starts at 10 p.m., is free, and DJ Epidemic will be spinning in-between the comedians' sets. For more info, check out Facebook's PBR Phoenix page.
