Muppets: The Green Album is a collection of classic Muppet hits being covered by some pretty talented rocker stars. The soundtrack, titled The Green Album, gets a slightly ironic twist, considering that Weezer is featured in the mix.
The 12-track album includes Muppets covers from OK Go, Alkaline Trio, Amy Lee, Sondre Lerche, The Airborne Toxic Event, Atreyu's Brandon Saller and Good Charlotte's Billy Martin, Andrew Bird, Matt Nathanson, and Rachel Yamagata. Among the fan favorites are The Fray singing "Mahna Mahna," My Morning Jacket doing "Our World," and Weezer and Paramore's Hayley Williams covering "Rainbow Connection." The album will be released on August 23.
The film has also been set to feature multiple big names in music for a few months now. Dave Grohl, Jack Black, and Lady Gaga are all going to be making appearances in the movie.
