A couple of locals are making music that's Hollywood-bound.

Local producer John Costello's remix of "How U Girlz Git Down" by local rapper Marcus Latief Scott is featured in the official trailer of Walk of Shame.

Walk of Shame is a romantic comedy that came out May 7. The movie stars Elizabeth Banks (Hunger Games, 40 Year-Old Virgin, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno) and James Marsden (X-Men series and Superman), and focuses on a reporter (Banks) who is on the verge of landing her dream job, only to have it jeopardized by a walk home from a hook-up that goes terribly wrong.

The movie has a 13 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is the third time the duo has had music in a major film. The original version of "How U Girlz Git Down" appears on the Scary Movie 5 soundtrack, and the duo's track "Got Me In A Trance" appears on the Piranha 3DD soundtrack.

"How U Girlz Git Down (Walk of Shame Remix)" is a pop-dance track with a low-tempo groove, layered in rap vocal verses and a melodic chorus. It's a track about partying, with lyrics like "When it's done you go home to your man, drunk as fuck and you can barely stand."

Although the Walk of Shame mix of "How U Girlz Git Down" is used as the music in the official trailer, and not in the movie, it is included in the movie's soundtrack.

"The producers of the movie liked it [the song] so much that they used it in the movie trailer and wanted it in the movie soundtrack, which is by a completely different record label (Lakeshore Records), which is really, really cool. They really believed in the song," said Costello, who surprised by the news that his remix would be featured in the trailer.

The soundtrack came out April 29 and includes 14 tracks, including music from a variety of artists like dance music DJs Jump Smokers and Alex Peace, alternative rocker Stuart Davis, and singer and guitar player Ashleigh Haney.

While "How U Girlz Git Down" original creator Marcus Latief Scott has mostly produced hip-hop throughout his career, Costello has dabbled in just about every avenue of music as as a professional. He played in many small bands '80s before he joined the United Services Organization in the late '80s. He went on to opening local Wild Whirled Recording Studios in the 90s, whose client's included fellow producers and television stations like Z-Trip and KTVK. Costello has also produced music for cartoons and other TV shows, along with his original music.
