So in case you haven't yet seen, or heard, about the new Erykah Badu video, it's stirring up quite the controversy. The clip, embedded above, shows Badu walking through Dealey Plaza, in her hometown of Dallas while taking off her clothes one piece at a time.

The plaza is infamous as the location where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. At the end of the video the sound of a shot rings out and Badu falls to the ground -- her head oozing blue letters that spell out "groupthink." She then says, "They play it safe, are quick to assassinate what they do not understand. They move in packs, ingesting more and more fear with every act of hate on one another."

The video was inspired by Matt and Kim's "Lessons Learned" video, in which the duo strip naked in a similar fashion in Times Square. Spoiler alert: In the last scene, Kim gets hit by a bus.

According to Idolator, "Erykah told the Morning News in an interview that she picked the Kennedy assassination site specifically because "the grassy knoll was the most monumental place in Dallas," and that 'I tied it in a way that compared the assassination to the character assassination one would go through after showing his or her self completely.'"

While some appreciate the symbolism and believe in its meaning, others claim that this is merely a cry for attention at a time when Badu is having a rough time selling records. You be the judge.
