If the Skifcha cat has already messed with your perception of dubstep, prepare to have it once again shaken up with an a cappella cover of "Bangarang." Dutch choir Dario Fo released the song last week and brought up important questions such as, "Is Skrillex really saying 'salsa on my balls boys, weed brownies'" and "does 'wa wa wa tikka' sound better than the original bass drop?"
It turns out there are tons of a cappella covers on YouTube, so we sifted through the Interwebs to find the best of the best. Check out our five favorites after the jump.
BYU Vocal Point -- Thriller
Who doesn't want to see a bunch of Mormons in ties doing the "Thriller" dance? The vocals are good, but the dancing is what really sells this video.
Poker Face by UCB Noteworthy
Speaking of dancing, this Lady Gaga cover may not be as intricate as the version by Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C., but these UCB students pull it off with seven people and some fabulous moves that could make Gaga blush.
Bohemian Rhapsody A Cappella
This is by no means an easy song to sing. These guys get bonus points for doing the same gestures as the music video and adding some dramatics like blowing in the wind. Sure, none of them are Freddie Mercury, but still, not too shabby. It gets really good from 2:57 and on.
Nintendo A Capella
You gotta love the semi-serious introduction of this medley of "all original work from Japan." "Mario" and "the Tetris pieces" are having way too much fun, but they've got nothing on the epic Mortal Kombat fight. And yeah, they really said "FINISH HIM!" The updated version has even more theatrics.
John Williams Tribute
Corey Vidal unleashes his inner Star Wars nerd by making up lyrics to the tune of theme songs from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, E.T., Jaws, Jurassic Park, and Indiana Jones. He's a pro at making Chewbacca noises and combining his voice onto four tracks, but we can't help but wonder why The Imperial March didn't make it into the final cut.
