For hip-hop heads, it just doesn't get any better than the annual Furious Styles Crew anniversary celebrations around these parts. The b-boy collective, which also has chapters in San Diego and Los Angeles, is turning 12 this weekend, and it'll commemorate the occasion with a three-day smorgasbord of b-boy and b-girl battles, poppin' battles, DJs from here and across the country (with DJ Element and DJ Wobbles of the Rock Steady Crew providing the battle breaks), panel discussions, and performances, including Aceyalone and Abstract Rude on Friday night at the Big Fish Pub. Friday afternoon's workshops, including one from legendary NYC b-boy Crazy Legs, and Saturday and Sunday's events are on the ASU campus at the PE Building East (551 East Orange Street in Tempe). The battle finals go off on Sunday afternoon, but smart heads will snap up the pre-event three-day pass for $30 rather than paying $15 for each day you want to go.
