While pop rock music fans are used to seeing bands like All Time Low and Cobra Starship don the graphic tees and hoodie sweaters of Glamour Kills clothing company, the trendy fashion line (which also sponsors Valley band The Maine) has adopted unsigned Portland, Maine band The Bay State into their stylin' musical family.
They're the only unsigned group to be on the line's roster, and they earned the spot by winning the Glamour Kills Clothing Theme Song Contest with their frenetic track "Hey Hey Glamour Kills."
The song's on the band's recently released sophomore EP, Haunted. The disc makes it hard to pinpoint the band's sound, which includes everything from sing-song-y rap on the Glamour Kills ditty, to pop and rock.
And like Paramore and 104.7 KISS-FM artist Hey Monday (who is also sponsored by Glamour Kills), The Bay State contains a female vocalist in Susanne Gerry--and the awesome thing is that she also plays bass!
You can check out all the songs yourself on the band's MySpace, at www.myspace.com/thebaystate, where the EP's being sold for $4.95.
