The all-American nearly-turned Fuel frontman American Idol star Chris Daughtry is bringing his band and his ever-prominent soul patch to the Southwest for a rock and roll romp at the Comerica Theatre in May.

Daughtry's manly, modern rock howl has made him one of the few Idol contestants to move from the hallowed stages of reality television to a rock 'n' roll career, but like David Cook, he demonstrated his solid pipes with songs outside of the rock canon on the show, like Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World" and Keith Urban's "Memories of Us."

Course, he also sang some Creed. So there's that.

Daughtry, The B-52's, The Expendables and other artists will be pleasing crowds across the Valley in the coming weeks.
