You might have heard by now that Kanye West had some things to say about Beck's Morning Phase winning the award for Album of The Year over Beyonce at last night's Grammy Awards.

If you haven't heard yet, here's a recap: As Beck walked up to the podium to accept the award, Kanye made a beeline for the stage, a la the infamous" Imma let you finish" Taylor Swift incident from the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, before spinning 180 degrees and returning to his seat, grin on face. But it wasn't all in good fun. After the show, Kanye had some words for the singer, saying Beck should "respect artistry" and give his award to Beyonce.

"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more," he said.

The Internet has been ablaze with discussions on the what, how and why of the topic; debating everything from Beyonce's record sales to Beck's artistic value. In the aftermath of Beckgate, what are the possibilities of an artist like Kanye coming together to actually collaborate with an artist like Beck? The two artists actually have more in common than what it seems on the surface.

In 2004, Beck teamed up with famed Composer, Jon Brion, to create the wonderfully ethereal soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine on The Spotless Mind. As some may or may not know, this movie blew Kanye's mind, particularly the score. This led to Kanye linking up with Jon Brion to produced Late Registration, Kanye's second album and one of his best. Imagine if Kanye were to link up with Beck? Based on the eerie, raw, yet majestic sound for Morning Phase, he could possibly bring Kanye West back to a sound that many of his fans have lauded for. The possibilities are endless.

Beck isn't new to hip-hop territory. His biggest hit, "Loser," famously features him semi-rapping. He has always been known for his "two tables and a microphone" approach, not just on "Where It's At?" Beck also teamed up with rising rap star Childish Gambino on his project Royalty, for a few tracks. In fact, Beck was partially responsible for titling Gambino's project Because the Internet. It is safe to say that Beck is clearly a fan of the urban market.

Hopefully, the two superstar musicians can build a bridge and get over it. The results of a collaboration between the two, could really only be beneficial to society. Kanye has already been branching out and working with the likes of Paul McCartney, so it's not too fetched to see Kanye work with another musical savant like beck.

Despite Kanye's comments, Beck still thinks Kanye is a genius. Maybe Kanye will realize the potential of a collaboration with the indie legend and turn into another hit or two for his catalog.
