There are many artists who played Coachella that will also be playing Lollapalooza -- The Killers, Thievery Corporation, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, Silversun Pickups, Friendly Fires, The Knux, Ida Maria -- but these bands are all hot right now, so it's smart to book them. What excites me and makes me consider actually going to Lollapalooza is the addition of Perry's stage -- a stage dedicated to DJs and electronic music. It's an obvious rip-off of Coachella's Sahara Tent (also known as the "Dance Tent"), but it is a welcome addition.

Tickets are a reasonable $205, and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell is optimistic about ticket sales so far, telling Reuters, "At Lollapalooza, we're selling more tickets than ever. People need an even bigger excuse to escape more than ever and there is no better escape than going to a festival and just tripping and taking in music." "Tripping" is usually the number one reason for attending an outdoor music festival. Well put, Perry Farrell. At least his festival this year features an incredibly solid and diverse lineup. Trip on, youngsters!
