The world is seriously so lucky to have Miley Cyrus as a role model for young girls.
The popster recently released her latest single, "Can't Be Tamed," off her upcoming album of the same name, to be released June 22. From the song, we learn Cyrus goes "through guys like money," but that's OK, because the 17-year-old has to get her way, because she's hot like that.
You know she's hot. She likes to dance like a stripper at teen awards shows, she taught her younger sister how to slap her butt to the song "Smack That," and she posed as if she just woke up from a steamy roll in the sack for Vanity Fair. Doesn't get hotter than that, folks.
Cyrus also tells listeners of "Can't Be Tamed" that she's a "ten," and whatever her actions, she can't be blamed.
While the song is a surefire hit for 13-year-olds to dance to before going to see the movies Cyrus stars in, it's a knock-off of Britney Spears' "If U Seek Amy," which isn't saying much for its artistic value or innovation. Her voice is also Auto-Tuned on the track, yet another way Cyrus is following in Spears' footsteps.
While the track is fun enough, the lyrics make Cyrus seem a little less respectful. Seriously, how many guys can one 17-year-old go through, and what do those lyrics say about the relationships she's had in the past? Instead of valuing the people she's dating, Cyrus, at such a young age, is already telling her young listeners that guys are dispensable, and if broken hearts are a consequence of not being tamed, then so be it.
It's too bad another Disney star is relying on sex to sell her music, but at least she's not someone who could do better than that, like some people.
