Valley private Christian college Grand Canyon University is ready to get its worship on with a little help from a few of music's biggest faith-based acts.

The 5,000 seat, 135,000 square foot sports arena officially opened earlier this month, but won't see its first concert until September 23, when Christian rock band Casting Crowns break the venue's musical ground. Other big acts headed to the venue include Jesus fans Switchfoot on October 21 and the less-worshippy, but still totally harmless country group Lady Antebellum on November 5. The $40 million arena was constructed in just 15 short months and is the focal point of a $200 million campus-wide expansion.
