Drink: De Bortoli Chardonnay (Australia, 2007). A glass will cost you $7.50. There's a nice wine selection, some decent liquors, a handful of beers on draft, and a whole mess of bottled domestic and import beers.

Scene: On a recent Monday night, this place was packed with an equal mix of yuppies and post-college 20-somethings. It was good to see, given that Maizie's (open only since May 2008) isn't really within walking distance of a significant residential area. I like that this place exudes a vibrant, open, modern feel without trying too hard to be hip. Well done, Maizie's. On Mondays, there are $3 hamburgers. On Tuesday, there's a regional cuisine of the month. A welcome addition to the dining/drinking scene. -- Jay Bennett
