If you were hoping to spend Friday night bumpin' the humps at e4, better make some new plans. The Scottsdale danceteria, which opened in 2005 amidst much pomp and circumstance, has closed its doors sometime in the past week, possibly for good.

A recent visit to to the club confirms this (as a number of 'no trespassing' signs are plastered on its doors and windows) but provided no explanation behind the closing.

A message on the e4 Web site simply states the club is "currently closed" and directs any questions to its business office.

I was unable to speak with e4's management on the matter. However, a former manager of the club, who asked to remain anonymous, told me that the e4 ownership is attempting to sell it's liquor license. Per the Arizona Department of Liquor License & Control's Web site, e4's license went inactive on December 26. -- Benjamin Leatherman
