"We are in the music business to have fun, and we hope everyone else enjoys it as well," says bassist Brett Dooley. "Even a serious-sounding song can have some foolishness going on in it."
The song indeed does have a serious message, with Dooley calling it an emotional response to fake people who misrepresent themselves.
"Be straightforward in dealing with other people," Dooley says. "That doesn't necessarily mean to be brutally honest when it doesn't provide any benefit, while hurting feelings, but it does mean to just be yourself."
You can hear the band play "Hypocrite" live at their upcoming show at the Roxy Lounge in Scottsdale Saturday, January 28. Listen to and download the songs from TURN for free here, and check out lyrics for "Hypocrite" and the video below. For more info on Nomadic, check out their website here.
Hypocrite
Signs in our lives
Do we read them wrong or get it all right?
I'm, I'm doing ok
But your words are leading me astray
Wandering, wandering
Preaching your words
Actions don't seem like they've ever heard
It's no wonder that you
Don't command much for an audience
Well, its over nothing
Just about anything you've to say
And so don't you try to
Point out to me what you never said
So please save me
The same old things that you say
Why don't you hear
The words that you choose
Why don't say, say what you mean
To get what you need
Well, its over nothing
Just about anything you've to say
And so don't you try to
Point out to me what you never said
So please save me
The same old things that you say
Why don't you hear
The words that you choose
Why don't say, say what you mean
To get what you need
Lies do cut
Whether or not you feel them
Wise to not
Stoop down to the level
So please save me
The same old things that you say
Why don't you hear
The words that you choose
Why don't say, say what you mean
To get what you need
