Let's face it: Female artists are a distinct minority in the male-dominated electronic dance music biz. It's even rarer to find female DJ duos, much less a talented twosome like South American siren Monica Farr and Minnesota beat mistress Lucy Luxe. The Twin City team, which performs as Dirty Talk, has been taking the EDM world by storm the past few years, spreading their infectious blends of murky electro mixed with drumstep, moombahton, and tech-house in venues across America. Dirty Talk will headline this weekend's Powersurge Music Festival, which will be their first Valley appearance. Italian hardstyle artist T.A.T.A.N.K.A. (a.k.a. Valerio Mascellino) and NYC's Eco also are scheduled to perform at the event, which will invade the Madison Event Center, 441 West Madison Street, on Saturday, January 28. A slew of local DJs will also perform, including Mando Rockz, Sam Groove, Matthew Harris, and Kromozome Zero. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission starts at $20. Call 602-284-2842.
