The Flaming Lips have done an interesting musical experiment with smartphones, according to Prefix.
Wayne Coyne and Steve Drozd of the Flaming Lips recently recorded a jam sesh that took place in a bath tub.
The guys played different parts of a song they wrote by playing the tracks of each instrument simultaneously on four iPhones. The song can only be heard in full when all of the broken down elements are played together.
The demo is similar to the Rolling Stone's recent musical breakdown of one of their songs separated by all of its instrumental elements. Will an iPhone concert be underway for the Flaming Lips? Who knows.
