Whenever Sunday night rolls around, most cats are content to simply veg in front of the latest episodes of Game of Thrones or Once Upon a Time. They don't know what they're missing. Despite the fact that it's the final night of the weekend (and your boss expects you to be back in your cubicle bright and early the next morning), there are still more than a few clubgoing adventures to be had for night rangers willing to pry themselves from the couch. And starting this weekend, local EDM promoter Sky Dweller is launching another Sunday shindig worth checking out. Downtown Phoenix dance spot Bar Smith, 130 East Washington Street, will be alive with light and sound every week during Transcendent Sundays while most of its neighboring clubs are cold and dark. Progressive and ambient dance grooves in the vein of trance, techno, and house will flow from the second-floor sound system during the launch party on Sunday, May 18, via such local DJs as David I, Michelle Sparks, Harwood, and Masato Robot while DanjaOne, Rolando Hödar, Adam K, and Dyleteda spin downstairs. And the guest of the evening will be progressive trance/house producer Quivver (a.k.a. John Graham), who will perform a rooftop set. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is $10. See www.skydweller.org.
