It's hard to find music videos on TV these days. Sure, one could argue that the internet has ushered in a new era of DIY or underground video creativity, but it's hard not to miss the days when you could waste hours watching clips on MTV or VH1. If musical nostalgia has been getting the best of you lately, we've got your cure. That's why we're bringing you Video Killed the Radio Stars.
This Tumblr has got all the music videos you love but definitely haven't watched in ages, all sorted into categories and showcased via a digital boob tube.
There's a page for videos from the '80s and another for videos from the '90s, as well as videos with "sexy girls" and "sexy boys."
More on what's awesome about this week's Tumblr of the Week after the jump...
The video picks are pretty awesome. For the '80s category, they've got some Tina Turner, Run D.M.C., Whitesnake, Tears For Fears and The Cure, proving that cheesy videos weren't confined to one single genre.
For the '90s category, Blackstreet, Bell Biv DeVoe, The New Radicals, Ice Cube and Erykah Badu are all in the mix (curiously like listening to "hits"-based radio stations around town).
As for the sexy girls, Paula Abdul, Bananarama, Sade, Mariah Carey and Aaliyah are included. Meanwhile, Duran Duran, John Cougar Mellencamp, Lenny Kravitz, Bruce Springsteen, and Boyz II Men round out the sexy boys section of the blog.
Time to dance to all these classics like no one's watching...or something.
