With the end of the year fast approaching, you’re about to be inundated with lists about the best and worst music of 2008. Phoenix New Times will be adding to that, of course, with our picks running the first week of the new year. And since I’ve only had this job about three months, I wanted to give the readers a shot at influencing and informing me about local stuff I may have missed.

So, this is an invitation to e-mail over your picks. If we’ve already reviewed a disc – album or EP – just give me a link and a few sentences about why you liked it. If it’s not on our radar, get the band to submit it to You Asked For It (address below) and I’ll give it a listen.

Also be on the lookout for a Best Shows of the Year list by former music editor Niki D’Andrea and I, coming here last week of the year.
