An early-morning party at a west Phoenix apartment complex resulted in the shooting death of an unidentified man after an argument with another party-goer.

Police are not identifying the victim yet, as investigators are still on the scene trying to piece together what happened.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to an apartment complex near 35th and Dunlap avenues in Phoenix about 4 a.m. today.

Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area, and when they got to the scene, they found the victim dead from gunshot wounds inside one of the apartments.

Police were initially unsure whether the shooting was related to the party, but they now say the victim had argued with one of the party-goers before the shooting.

The party, police say, started at midnight and that investigators aren't yet sure if the shooting happened inside or outside of the apartment.
