The Arizona Diamondbacks got their bats moving last night during the team's 9-4 win over the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field last night.

The D-Backs had 14 hits last night, including a center-field jack from right-fielder Justin Upton that may not have landed yet.

But Upton's homer was just the icing on the cake -- a three-run shot from catcher Miguel Montero in the fifth inning put the D-Backs up 6-2, a lead from which the Rockies would not recover.

Then there's left-fielder Gerardo Parra, who aside from making a circus catch early in the game, went 4-5 with two RBIs.

Upton had his own Sportscenter-worthy snag in right-field in the fifth.

Despite a 20-plus-pitch, one-run first inning, in his third major league start, pitcher Wade Miley recovered nicely, only giving up two runs on nine hits in six innings pitched.

"Everything is going well right now," Montero told reporters after the game. "Everything is coming together at the right time."

The win was the team's eighth straight "W," putting the D-Backs six games ahead of the struggling San Francisco Giants, who took a 5-2 beating from the Chicago Cubs last night.

This weekend the D-Backs head to San Francisco to take on their division rivals. That series has the potential to put another nail in the Giants' coffin -- or set them up to make a September run at the playoffs.
