According to what appears to be very important research, Arizona-born folks tend to show up in pornographic movies more often than most other states.

In fact, according to a 10,000-porn-star sample taken by writer Jon Millward, only six states have produced more porn stars than Arizona.

Perhaps the biggest problem with using the information from Millward's study is that it's not a study of all porn stars. The study uses 10,000 samples from the 115,000 porn actors profiled on the Internet Adult Film Database -- like IMDb, the Internet Movie Database, but for porn -- which still doesn't include everyone who's ever popped up in a porno flick.

Still, based on the sample, Arizona's fairly well-represented.

Seventy-eight actors and actresses in the study were born in Arizona. Only California, Florida, Texas, New York, Ohio, and Illinois had more, and California had far more than any other state -- 939.

Furthermore, not all people in the nudie pictures are American, although U.S.-born actors and actresses were four times more common than the next-biggest homeland, Hungary.

So, all things considered, an Arizona porn actor or porn actress is at kinda-above-average-maybe status.

As longtime readers of this blog would know, we've provided what's likely more coverage than any other news outlet on Backroom Casting Couch, the faux-reality-porn website that's had two of its associates arrested in recent years, caused enormous amounts of drama at the local university, and details on the website's herpes-plagued "star" -- and that's just one of the Valley-based porn outlets. (The links to all of those stories can be found above.)

For this study though, head over to Millward's website to see the insane amount of porn-star information this guy's compiled, including hair color, race, state and county of birth, names, types of sex acts, "roles," and more.
